Pragna AI Research & Innovation University is a next-generation, AI-first deep-tech institution being established under the Telangana State Private Universities Act, 2018. Designed for the future of education, Pragna combines rigorous academics, world-class research, and industry-driven innovation.
Our university brings together the strengths of artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, cognitive science, data engineering, digital governance, and emerging technologies—forming a unified ecosystem of learning, research, and real-world problem solving.
Our Origin Story
Pragna was conceived with a bold vision—to create India’s first AI-first deep-tech university built around real-world applications, global collaboration, and research-led innovation. The idea emerged from a clear gap: traditional universities were unable to keep pace with the speed of AI and automation transforming enterprises, governments, and societies.
Telangana’s forward-thinking Private Universities Act (2018) provided the ideal framework to establish a high-impact, research-oriented institution. The state’s commitment to becoming India’s AI capital aligns directly with Pragna’s mission.
Interim Campus at ESCI Hyderabad
To accelerate academic and research operations, Pragna is launching its interim campus at Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad. The ESCI campus provides:
- Established academic and training infrastructure
- AI/ML and technology-ready classrooms and labs
- Proximity to Hyderabad’s technology ecosystem
- Professional environment for AI & data programs
This interim campus allows Pragna to start operations immediately while the permanent greenfield campus is planned and developed.
Global Aspirations
Pragna is being architected as a globally connected university. A dedicated initiative has been launched to establish an international entity in the United Kingdom, enabling joint degrees, collaborative research, and student/faculty mobility across the UK, US, Europe, and India.
